Ive got a Charging Systems International made in Nashville ( Three Bank Pro Charger 10 x3 marine ) model 3b picked it up at flea market, when plugged into ac power, get slight hum no lights , of course there is no battery yet connected , just trying to fig out if works b4 attaching battery so dont kill a battery with it.
Anyone here have any in depth tech expertise with one of these

Thanx in advance

emoThanks

I don't know anything about the one you have but the only way you will ever find out about it is hook it up, it will work or it won't. It won't hurt a battery.

I finally hooked up a battery to it , lights came on, and it appeared to be charging, I charged up battery on regular charger, then reattached to the 3 bank charger, lights no longer came on, after fully charged so I can assume its doing its thing.. I got it for 10 bucks, so in either case if it didnt work not much of a loss, and if it did work was a real bargain

I will try...You should have an AC lead wire in and three sets of two attached wires each for the three batteries. There should be a Thirty amp. fuse on each of the three red wires that connect to the positive battery terminal. Check the fuse and make sure it is Thirty amps(Only). The black wires go to the Negitive posts on the battery.

To test the charger before you connect it on your boat..... Seperate all the terminals and do not allow them to touch each other at any time during the time you have the charger plugged into your 110V outlet. You will need a volt meter. Touch the red(+) and the black(-) in each of the three sets on wires with the leads from the tester. They should read approximately 14 volts at each set. The Three bank charger has three seperate circuits that should all show a near equal output.

If you are not getting the charge in all three sets with good fuses, Do not install the charger. It is bad and in most cases can not be feasably repaired.

Good luck...I hope that is not the reason it was in the flea market.
