great story cheeze i absolutely love stories like that emoAngel reminds me of a line in a song that says "if you want to hear God laugh , tell Him YOUR plans "

We don't always know what God's plans are for us.
> > We just know that His ways are not our ways, but His ways are always

and i am living proof of that. if i had gone the course of MY plans i would have been with the 96 sailors and marines who lost their lives when a ferry capsized off of the coast of Turkey in 1991 , attempting to return them
to the USS Saratoga . had i not broken my foot (sever enough to eventually end my military career) and missed the cruise i would most likely be in Arlington .

Thanks for sharing this story at this time of year. Read it before, and it is still just as good now as the first time.

YEah thats a good story. I like to remind people, believers I should say, that if you knew the way to get from this point in your life to where you are going, it would not be called faith. Trust in God is one of those things that once understood can bring about freedom like few have known. What those trees understood though, is that they are servants, not here for their own benefit, and so by giving themselves up, they were used for great things. Better than standing alone as a solo tree. Maybe we should think like those trees and we too could be used for great things.
