Fished Tim's Saturday night 5-1 in a small club tourney. First you don't want to try fishing Tim's before dark on the weekend during summer. We launched out of the State Park and headed up river around Rock Creek boat ramp. Started cranking DD22 on river ledge to no avail. Left there and went on up river behind Estill city park and flipped a beaver on the bluff walls. Caught a 13" spot and a non-keeping lm there. Left around dark and went back to river ledge @ rock creek. Caught 2 short lm and a 16" sm, so it's 10:30 and still only 1 fish in boat with storm fast approaching. Left back down river to the loop with lightning popping and wind kicking to fish a point. 1st cast with 1oz. sb get nailed, get it in boat 17 3/4 " sm emoBang, before I can get my spinnerbait straightened out my partner hangs a good one, as he's bringing it to the net it pulls off. 2 casts on point and 2 fish, rain started and we never got another hit the rest of the night. Tournament was won with 11.6 (4 fish) all caught cranking around bass club, 2nd 8.2 ( 5 fish) . Tim's and the other lakes around here really slowed down this week, except the rock fish, heard several good reports on them during the morning.
