I am wondering if anyone could give me tips on either good places to throw from the bank and also good lures to use when fishing from the bank. I mostly fish near the dam and in the river. Any tips help thanks.

Anything you are comfortable throwing from the bank will work. I always had luck throwing a worm from the bank. Any Texas rigged soft plastic bait will usually do the trick.

You can also drive around where you have access to the water and watch the boat fishermen for a while. Lots of them sit in a boat and throw to the bank, while bank fishermen sit on the bank and throw out to where the boats are usually at. emoScratch emoBigsmile

Bank fishermen are on a par with boat fishermen when fishing a tail race. However, limit your fishing to times when there is current. Fish that live in an environment where the current is intermittent, get active and dormant when the current is started up and shut down. Their activity periods are triggered by the intermittent current. In a lake with no current, their activity periods are based on something else as is a free flowing river.
