Haven't really thrown the TN rig much and I was just wondering what a good tackle set up would be for it. Rod, real gear ratio, line weight. Any advice would be most welcome.

I also dont throw it much. Ive caught maybe 10 fish. But i decided to throw it more and got a dedicated set up for it and its definately made it easier to fish (still a b*tch imo). Im using a 7'11" Denali Lithium A-Rig rod. The rod is pretty light and makes casting easier than my flippin rod i was using before. I use a 5:1 Halo cranking reel so i can slow roll it. And 65lb braid is a must because i dont wanna lose $30-$40 in one cast. Thats my $0.02

A long swimbait rod doesnt need to be broomstick heavy like a lot of people throw because that will wear you out. A lighter action like the Cashion 7-11 swimbait rod will let you work less and the action of the rod will do more of the work. You also wont lose as many fish on hookset. Johnny Stansell at DjsMarine has cashion rods. I have a loomis Rig rod and the Cashion is better for the rig and half the price. For a reel I am using 2 Tatula HDs,, but I was throwing it on 2 Shimano Curado 300Es and they worked good too theyre just bigger and bulkier. 6.3 gear ratio.

Thanks for the info guys. I was wearing myself out when I threw it using a saltwater surf rod I have. Felt like my arms were going to fall off after 30min of throwing it
