Tohatsu engine alarm help

I have a 50 hp Tohatsu engine that recently started giving an audible alarm when you put the motor in gear. It does not do it in neutral. The water pump is working, oil level is fine and the engine runs smooth. I can turn the ignition key to the left just a tad and it quits. Any advice, suggestions or ideas? Thanks in advance

Check grounds on sensors or connections for being loose, sounds like power grounding thru ign........ emoGeezer emoUSA

does the alarm go off when you speed the motor up? if so the water pump pressure is low at idle . i have one and it does the same thing at idle
