Went for a few hours today. Started at the Hopper as allways and had all intentions in making the run to skull island area to scout out some new spots to throw "THE GRUB". River was not cooperating very well. The wind was too bad. Once again had to make the short run to Sail Creek. Had a buddy with me that don't fish alot and he talked me into fishing the ditch where I caught the fish yesterday, I was thinking about fishing the CFF tourney Sat. and didn't wand to sore lip any more. He begged so we did for ten mins, caught 1, 3#fish and left. Went to the bridge and crappie fished for about 45 mins and had three keepers. The wind was even bad in the creeks. Kept the crappie in hopes to pick some more up in grasshopper, but we didn't. Did get to fellowship with another fisherman that talked a good game and he gave me some tips in Sail Creek. He said the water temp in the back was close to 50 degrees because there is an underwater spring in the back. We looked it up and marked it on my gps. If anybody else knows anything about this spring please reply. Overall it was too windy to be fishing today.

Thanks for report.... for future reference it is "Sale" Creek.... although you might have been making a humorous reference to the wind today?????

There is a good spring back in Sale Creek....go under the Brown's bridge and go right down that bank a little ways ...dumps into creek channel...

Theres several springs back there but thats probably the best one. Guess we'll be racing there now

The ditch line is something I haven't fished yet. I'm curious to know how your fishing the ditch but if you want to wait until after the TX, I understand...

There's also a big spring back in Sale creek on the left before the bridge as you are going towards the back. Here's where I remember it. The spring that I showed is on the black and white maps, the one that FA is alluding to is not on the maps. There is one way to find the spring that FA is talking about, looking at aerial photographs on the web. I dare someone to find it. Tee Hee. Here's a map of the one that is on the black and white maps (red circle). It's an approximation but it's a big spring from what I remember. Good luck.
