Took my better half to Aris Restaurant today at Harbor Lights.

If you want to win a few brownie points with your better half I thought I would share my wife's and my outing this afternoon. I had seen that place on the water but never bothered stopping there to eat. We did not do the early morning mad house shopping thing. We got out mid morning and took our time. Asked her where she wanted to shop and she said North Gate since the traffic is so much less then the area around Hamilton Place. We had talked about where to eat and she said she did not care and for me to pick a place. Since we were on that side of the river anyway I told her about Aris and that is where we went. When we got there it was not busy at all. Got our pick of seats and sat by the windows overlooking the lake. They are having a winter special all winter for 2 for $19.99. They had several excellent choices to choose from. I had catfish, a loaded potato and a salad. My wife had hamburger stack loaded with cooked onions, a mix vegetable and a salad. It was excellent. emoHungry I also had to order a appetizer of calamari but that was not included with the deal.

It was very nice, good food and great location for not too much money. Has anyone else tried that place? I was impressed. emoThumbsup Jmax

Everytime I have friends visit to fish with me, I take them to lunch at that very restaurant. It has always been an excellent place to eat. Everyone I ever took there really enjoyed the food and the location with its view of the lake. Plus, you just pull up to the ramp and take a few steps up to the place. Super place to take fishermen while on the lake.

Just go to Hixson, get on Hixson Pike like you are going to Chester Frost Park. Then just stay on Hixson Pike, it will go by the road to the park, then by the road to Camp Columbus. It will go from a four lane down to a two lane road and not too far past that you come to the lake where it is on both sides of the road. Just past that there is a turn off to Harbor Lights Marina and Aris. There are signs there where you turn off Hixson Pike so it would be hard to miss. Their address is actually Soddy. Jmax

You missed a good chance at Steve's Landing which is just about 6 or 7 miles farther on Hixson Pike ...

emoThumbsup Good place to access from water also. Wife & I will darken their door couple times a year while passing time on the Chick. I fish, she warms up to fish a bit. Lunch time we tie up at dock & enjoy the setting, sometimes on porch deck when weather permits......not bad for earning points as u say, J-Max. emoThanks ............ emoGeezer emoUSA

I have been there via water multiple times and have had great service and food. Surprised they dont stay busier.

I'm an avid Aris patron, ever since fox cay shut down, thats my on-the-water refreshment hole. I recomend the gyro plate and the buffalo shrimp. Greek ladies rock!

Went up there today for lunch. Buffalo shrimp were great! We were the only people in the place for lunch which was weird. Food and service were great.
