I was in the gym this afternoon after work, doing my normal Monday workout... I wasn't very motivated, so I decided to cut it out early and hit up a few friends and go fishing. My roommate works out with me, so he was game, and I called up CooperJD to join us. We decided we were going to take a topwater only trip. We started in Flint Creek on Wheeler, and fished a series of deep blow downs with buzzbaits, spooks, and chugbugs. That didn't produce any fish, and not so much of a swirl. We headed into the main lake to the Bayou area and into Suzie Hole. Coop hooked a big gar on a spook and for some reason we thought it would be a good idea to net it and bring it on the boat, bad idea after it trashed around and stunk up my boat it finally flipped out. We made our way into Suzie Hole and immediate saw some fish hitting. I only managed a striper on a buzzbait.

I decided to head to one of my favorite weedbeds in Flint Creek on the way back to the ramp, and immediatedly my roommate hooked into a nice 3 lb 5 oz Largemouth on a yellow double blade buzzbait. I boated a slick soon there after on a buzz. We spent the next 30-45 minutes fishing other weedbeds, and ended up missing a few fish as it got dark. We just weren't very focused.

Water temp was 81 degrees, and there was a slight wind out of the west.

Yea, Randy works out. emoThumbsup I (barely) remember when I had arms like that. Fish looks like a 5-pound head?

Richard, lets not inflate his ego, more than it already is! emoLaugh

The fish was actually very healthy, I thought the same thing after I downloaded my pics. The angle of the shot, from up top didn't do a good job showing the fullness of the fish. The way it hit though I thought we were in for a 6 or 7 lber!
