Awesome picture...terrible results. The beauty of nature with ugly after effects. How close was he to that thing? </p>

well I guess you can't believe anything! here is the e-mail I got today... the guy is retired I'm removing his name......... had sent this to Tomcat. I thought ya'll might like to see it if you hadn't already.

Take a look at the tornado that passed thru my brothers place near Pisgah last week. The picture was taken by his brother-in-law as the lightening flashed. Amazing!

Don't feel bad. You're not alone. Since Pisgah tornado, we (NewsChannel 9) have been sent that photo from about a half-dozen different sources. It is human nature (at least "most human's nature") to trust. I personally think that's a good thing. But with the swift and widespread reach of e-mail and the Internet, bad info can spread like wildfire.

Sadly journalists must learn to be "not so trusting." That is the reason we are often portrayed as the buzzards circling the kill. However it is also the reason we occasionally uncover wrongdoing. I'm not saying this was wrongdoing... it's just very easy to believe every e-mail you read. Future reference, www.snopes.com is an outstanding resource for checking out Internet myths. We refer to it regularly.
