Tournament Name Change

B&B Bass Tournament Series will no longer exist. Our new name is Hiwassee 58 Bass Tournament Series. We will no longer use the launch ramp at B&B Marina as our home ramp. We will be moving our operation to either county ramp at 58 bridge or to 58 Boat Dock.

Monday April 23 tournament will be held at the county ramp at 58 bridge crossing the Hiwassee.

The high road, politically correct answer.

The long term success of the tournament made it necessary to make some difficult choices. Stability and consistency has always been the back bone of our tournament and we could not insure that either would be possible staying at B&B.

The new owners are building a business and are unsure if they will open on Mondays or remain closed. We have no control over the direction B&B will head over the next few months or years. As B&B creates its new identity and attracts a new client base, we could be told at anytime this summer the tournament was no longer welcome due to new hours of operation or new direction the Marina is heading. With this in mind, the decision to move the tournament elsewhere was made.

That's smart.. open a new business and immediately choose to lose a minimum of 20-50 customers a week on a recurring basis.

On second thought, I will refrain from making any comments.

Thanks for continuing the tournament at the 58 ramp anyway. I plan on fishing them in a few weeks.

Maybe if they were smart they could host a couple of large tournaments a year. Although the yacht club may not appreciate it.

Hate to hear it didn't work out. Yeah I was looking forward to fishing yesterday and noticed the site was down. I always wanted it out of 58 and then once I started coming up there, I enjoyed going. Hey wherever it is I will still come for sure. Just means it is easier on the guys who run to the TN. Hey at least we don't have to pay the parking fee.

We worked out a deal with 58 Boat Dock and will be holding them there for the remainder of this season.

I think it will turn out to be a great decision for all of us. We are going to a place we are truly welcome. 58 Boat Dock and Lamar want us to be there. He understands us and respects us and is one of us. The Harden's are a fishing family. As long as we respect the 58 rules and pay our ramp fees we will be welcome for a long time.

If we had remained at B&B we would have been tolerated at best. I had a feeling that the first little infraction (real or imagined) would have led to us being told to leave B&B. I don't regret the decision at all.

where is 58 boat dock? I know where the ramp at 58 bridge is but don't think I have ever used the one at 58 boat dock

Yeah just drive over the bridge and its the second right. The first right is the actual campground. It is right beside the marina with all the boats
