do i have to be a member of a club to get involved in a tourn. ? I would like to do one once i get a better reel. thanks for your help.

You don't have to be a member of a bass club to fish tournaments. You can fish any number of tournaments throughout the year. Actually, there's not a weekend in the entire year where no one is holding a tournament. From small weekly dogfights to large tournaments like the BFL run by FLW, and the Weekend Series run by the ABA. Entry fees range from $50 to $300 per boat. Keep an eye on this board. There's all kinds of info on here.
