I have not been a good deer hunter this Summer. I normally run several cams and have several acres of beans and corn going, but this year we let our fields sit idle through the warm months and havent had a cam out until this past weekend. This weekend, we basically just cleaned up our cabin and sprayed our fields. I almost crapped when I got down to my plots. I have never seen my plots so over grown with thistle and rabbit tobbacco. I'll promise the weeds are 10-12ft tall in most plots. Also, the old man at the bottom of the mountain usually plants tobacco, this year he didnt so, I have an additional 26 acres of tillable ground we can plant this year. In other words, we got some work to do. We did see several nice deer last weekend including the biggest spike I have ever seen.(he is now on the hit list).

I also put out 2 new cams over salt holes Sunday, so I am excited to see what we got when I get up there this weekend. We will spend the weekend mowing and turning dirt, but we wont plant until late september as it is way too hot and dry to put seed out now.

I will post before and after pics of our field work and will also post up any cool pics I get, hopefully of some good bucks. I started this thread hoping some of you guys will post some of your plot work and trail cam photos to fire me up even more! Post away!

Looking forward to being jealous of yalls pictures this year. I dont bother on our place, its just a meat farm so we shoot anything that walks, no point putting one up. I went ahead and stuck this thread at the top again for this year.

I've done stumbled across a nice little spot up in Kentucky. 400 acres of beans surrounding my 250 acres of hardwoods. Season opens Saturday. I'll be 25ft up an oak tree emoBigsmile

Here's a couple that are on my "hit list"

Awsome Adam. Be sure to spray down with permanone. What county?

Yea Justin, ticks are freaking serious up there! Permanone is a man's best friend! I'm in Trigg County, outside of Cadiz. Haven't slept worth a dang all week. I'm pumped!

I'm also FOS!  That pic is from Illinois.</p>

I thought that the moment I saw the picture. My mind said.....Bprice is full of s*#t! emoLaugh I would venture to say that all the buck right now should still have plenty of velvet.

Adam...those are awesome bucks, you lucky dog! I will be waiting for some great pictures and stories from you this year. emoToast

I am pumped as well, been talking with the guy that owns our deer club with me and he said the deer crop looks great in Arkansas this year. Bow season starts there Oct. 1st. emoThumbsup Jmax

I know the area well Adam. I have hunted in Butler, Muhlenburg, and Logan counties. If I were you, I'd be trying hard to get one in velvet good luck!

I have my eye on one. The antlers aren't much to brag about, but it has a huge body and should be great eating...................

He's got double brows too on right side!!! I just hope the poachers don't get to him first!!! He's in prime poaching territory directly in front of my Mom's. She had 4 dead within 200 yds of her driveway 2 weeks ago shot and left dead. I have no idea how all 4 were killed in one night. Do they seriously just stand there when spot lighted?
