I put out some peanut butter at some new property I just got permission to hunt and I also put a trail cam there to see what size deer I was dealing with. Picked up my cam two days later and an empty jar of butter. Checked the cam no pics. of any deer just me and the ground!! Question is... why is the cam. free of deer pics??? it wasnt pointed east and west and the wind couldnt affect the tree I had it in. Took it home and checked it in the dark to make sure it would work...man those things really have a bright flash!!!emoBang emoConfused emoConfused emoConfused

I have been playing with the trail cams for 3 years now. First of all, a raccoon or squirel is more likely to get the peanut butter than a deer is. At least thats my experience. Also some cams have slow trigger times and you need to have those cams placed in an area that the deer spend alot of time in. Most cams on the market are too slow to be placed on a trail. Bottom line: you usually get what you pay for. I have been using a stealthcam 390VZ for 2 years and it seems to be doing a satisfactory job. I'll post some new pics from my cam early in the week! Keep changing your camera set-up and make sure you have strong batteries ( dont mix brands). Good luck!
