Trailblazer Electrical Question

I have an '07 Chevy Trailblazer and I'm trying to find the backup light wire in the 7 pin trailer hookup plug. When checking the pins in this plug,(engine off, lights off, car in reverse) there are still 3 pins energized. Which pin is really the backup light pin?
I have installed hyd brakes on my boat trailer and I want to wire up the solenoid on the master clyinder of the trailer brakes so that I can back the trailer.

Backup should be the center pin.

a lot of these newer vehicles use modules for the lights,and they are $$$,excessive current draw can damage them,check with your dealer {if theres any left in your area} for assistance,good luck

I know when I worked for Dodge alot of the newer ones had to have the trailer lamps initiated or it would see the extra draw as a issue and would turn them off. You may look in your owners manual and see if it gives you any insite or call the dealer like mentioned before. But the answer is the center one like mentioned.

Did you mean electric brakes???? My (Ford F150) had a relay under the hood that had to be plugged in. (was in the glove box)

Like said above, it is the center pin. If you can see behind the connector, it is the light green wire. The back-up circuit does go through the PCM (engine controller) and BCM (body controller) but only to work your automatic day/night mirrors if equipped. </p>

The factory trailer tow back up light circuit is separately hard wired from the Park/Neutral switch through the underhood fuse box (fuse #4, 10 amp) to the trailer tow plug. If the trailer connector came OEM on your truck the back up should work if you connect to the center pin. Check the fuse requirements of the solenoid and make sure 10 amps is adequate.</p>
