I bought a 2004 rig a year ago and have really enjoyed it. I noticed the carpet on the bunks is really really worn. Any thoughts where and how I can replace it. The boat is on the trailer all the time I am not using it so not sure logistically how to do this. Also I want to replace the winch. Any thoughts on where to get one??

Measure & buy enough carpet to cover your bunks. Some use marine carpet, some do not. It's your choice. Launch your boat at the riverpark ramp below the Chickamauga dam. Tie the boat to the ramp where you can keep an eye on it and move the trailer to a shady spot in the parking lot. Remove the old carpet and install the new. Pretty simple operation and inexpensive, too. Before buying the carpet, take note of how the old carpet is attached to the bunks and purchase similiar hardware to attach the new carpet.

After the carpet is replaced, load the boat. Last step - feel good.

Good luck.

use floor jack on back of boat pull board off use as template, glue carpet to new board then install, nothing to it.

I would agree, ecept to do it at CFP- there is much more dock space to leave your boat out of the way, plus more parking space.

There were some guys doing this very thing this morning at CFP.

Let me know if you want to do it, would be glad to help.

along with a good water resistance adhesive i also used galvanized stables to help hold carpet while glue dried,i have done 3 trailers with no problems, where ever you get your winch make sure you buy a good one thats the right size for weight of your boat,
