Trailer Length

I have purchased a used 16" Astroglas boat that looks like it is on a trailer for a 22" boat. The roller on the back of the trailer and the bottom running boards stick out about a foot beyond the back of the boat when the bow is snug against the winch stop. Is this a problem or should I not worry about it? Trailer and boat pull fine and trailer is in good shape just worried about the length. I can't use a motor tender without somekind of modification. Can leaving the motor all the way up on the tabs while pulling cause a problem? Any advise welcome.
