Was getting prepared to fish after work today and while I was going about my normal routine hooking things up I happenned to notice I have lost my center cap and hub cover emoBang After closer inspection of the wheel I could see that the spindle was not in the center of the wheel itself emoEek emoEek I got the jack out of the garage and lifted the side of the trailer up and the whole wheel was just kind of flopping around on the axel shaft. I removed the nut and washer that goes behind it and all the bearings just fell out emoMad It must be a miracle that I got the thing home in one peice last trip and Thank God I looked at the wheel or I could have had an epic failure this morning. Put in a call to none other than Billy Bouymaster and sure enough he told me exactly what I need to get. Billy helped me avoid an issue like this one morning at Chester Frost park a couple years ago. I called to see what I could do and he drove out there and brought a new hub with him. emoWorthy emoWorthy Its nice to have so many good friends and nice that they are in the know. I could have wrecked the rig and hurt people this morning if I tried to tow ike that so take a minute to check the "little" things. Hoping to get her fixed up tonight so my brother and I can get out tomorrow. We havent had many opprotunities this summer. Thanks a ton Billy. emoThanks

Just an update. Took my hub to Felton's trailer because they are close to where I work and they had all the bearings I needed but the hub would not hold grease cap in because it had ridden on the axel nut. So I called a couple places and nobody had one on hand. They all had to order and it would take a few days. I thought about Truck and Trailers at the last minute and they had several in stock and all the bearings and seals! Ran up there and got everything to fix it for less than $60!!!! Everything went on easily and I was finished in 30 minutes. I think I could have done it in 10 but the new grease cap nearly whipped my butt. If anybody needs a quick fix on a wheel hub you should check with Truck and Trailers they just may have what you need.

Keep in mind that Tractor Supply store do also. Heres what you need for a standard Tapered Spindle found mainly on all 14" tire setups and some 13" (or 1750# end unit / 3500 up to 3750#axle)

Bearings INNER = L68149 OUTER = L44949
Cone(race) INNER = L68110 OUTER = L44610

Tractor Supply Part = http://www.tractorsupply.com/en/store/carry-on-trailertrade;-bearing-kit-1-3-8-in

If you unsure what you have or need either take the hub down and look at the back of the first bearing..should be the number on it ..or check to see if your spindle measures 1 3/8 x 1 1/16 (diameters where the bearings ride) That will be the taper on it.

If all else fails, send me a PM. :)

All good Billy. Truck and Trailers hooked me right up. Everything fit properly (I test fitted them dry to save getting all greasy for nothing) and the only problem I had was getting the stupid grease cap on! The PDF you e-mailed me was right on the money I appreciate it. Pulled to the lake yesterday and there was no heat or need to re-tighten anything so I feel way better. As always thanks for all the help you're not bad for a white guy.

Glad I could help you out. I need to take a few days and put a mass post up on bearings, brakes and whatever you guys think you may want when it comes to the trailering.

Ol Billy built me one for my lead sled back in 2005 thats the best thing since sliced bread solid tube frame disc brakes and duel axle best money I've ever spent besides my divorce back in 94' emoBang

Thanks
Billy and Tenn Trailers
