anyone know someone around the Marion County area that does trailer wiring I seem to have a short somwhere where when I hit the brakes a light goes out and when I turn on I believe the left signal light goes out as well

any helps or tips are appreciated

Is it a clearance or running light going out?

Could be a pinched hot wire. (usually the brown wire) Ant automotive place should be able to find it. I have seen bad plugs do the same.

turn signal light / brake light, you cut the running lights on and things are fine then hit the brakes and I believe the passenger side light goes out completley then when you turn on the left turn signal the driver side light goes out completely emoScratch

you just gave me an idea could be the plug on the truck as well, will check it out this weekend thanks for the reply BBass and thank Mike again for me the ol Vessel loads up WAY EASY now!

Sounds like a poor ground . I have had to install addition grounds on trailers that people try and let the trailer ground through the ball. What happenes is there is enough ground to burn one element of the bulb but not both. That is why it will run one then goes out when you hit the brake. You aren't far from me, if you can't get it, run it up.

I've had the same problem in the past due to a poor connection at the plug. Hook it up, turn on your vehicle lights and flex the plug. If the trailer running lights brighten, you found your problem= poor ground connection like James said.
