Transducer Advice/Thoughts

Need some advice. I am currently running a Lowrance X-88 at the console that has an in-hull transducer, but it has started acting up. I have picked up a Garmin 535S, but cannot decide to transom mount or in-hull mount the transducer. I am still looking to integrate a SI unit in the near future.</p>

Should I have a plate mounted to the transom for current/future transducer mounts, or go ahead and mount this one in the hull as well?</p>

Looking for some thoughts, as I already have a transom mount transducer, but will have to order an in-hull mount.</p>

patric you can mount the skimmer type thru the hull instead of buying a new one as for as the si transducer i mounted mine to the jackplate just made a bracket it will be out of the water when you get on plane but thats when the skimmer transducer takes over via a y cable thats included with the bird hope this helps
