What is the best way to store the excess transducer cable when mounting the transducer on the trolling motor? Roll it up, wrap it around the shaft, coil it up on the deck????????

I use electrical tape every 6-8" on the TM shaft to secure the cable to the shaft. Be sure to leave enough slack at the point on the shaft where the TM rotates to allow 360 degree rotation of the head. Also allow enough at the bracket for the TM to deploy. Most remove the bow panel and store the excess bundle in the void behind there. I usually just wrap enough electrical tape around the bundle to keep it together. No need to wrap it too tightly. Good luck!

Good info from JBH3.
I made a mistake when I first installed a new Transducer cable on my TM by having the cable exposed in "anyplace' that could hit when I raised the TM. I cut the thing about the 3rd time out. Just watch where you route the cable and you'll be fine. Let's go fishin' soon. emoFish emoUSA

micro cable ties is what i use and leave a loop so it can rotate ,that way if you ever have to adjust just cut and put another one on,tape seems to get sticky in hot weather emoThumbsup

Does it matter what you do with the excess cable. Is it ok to coil the excess up or is there some certain method for storing?
