I fished a TX this weekend and noticed that the bow unit wasnt picking up the bottom at times. When I pulled the boat out I saw that near the transducer something I ran into during theday nicked the heavy black outer coating of the transducer cable and you can see multi-color wires exposed but no copper. So I am thinking about either covering the nick with 3M 5200 not that it is good and dry or I think there may be something called liquid electric tape that I can cover the nick with. Any suggestions or thoughts? If I have to replace the transducer how hard is that?

It happened to mine to, so like you I put liquid tape and after it dried put tape on it too. If it still works that should be enough. Mines been like that for awhile and seems to be holding up. If you do replace it, I don't think it would be hard if you use the one on there now as a guide. ;)
