Okay need some help from some experts out there. I purchased an Elite TI7 total scan over the weekend. I just about have everything wrapped up with the one exception being to mount my skimmer transducer for my elite 5x (in dash). I have a aluminum boat with a 2x2 square bracket on the rear of the boat that is intended for mounting sonar transducers to. I removed the old skimmer and put the total scan in that location. I mounted it at the top of the bracket so that it would not be in the water while traveling on plane. This was intentional in an effort to minimize damage to the total scan transducer. Originally I was planning to put the skimmer farther to the right away from the total scan. This will allow it to be farther away from the motor and allow me to utilize the natural angle of the boat to allow the skimmer to be in the water when on plane. Today when getting ready to finalize the project I noticed that there is room on the bracket (below the total scan) to mount the skimmer. Additionally if I turn the skimmer backwards, it don't seem to visually interfere with the total scan. The only downside I can see is some additional drag due to the flat end of the skimmer taking the water full on. Other than that I didn't see any other downside. Has any one ever tried this type of set up and what were the results.

If you put the two too close together and run them at the same time, you will get inteference from the signals on the 2D sonar. I would mount the Elite 5x transducer on the other side
