A couple months back I swerved to miss a log that had just surfaced on the water. I missed my motor (thank goodness) but managed to knock my transducer off the transom. The transducer was fine but the mounting bracket was broken. Here's the deal...the transducer and mounting bracket were one piece. Will I be able to splice a new transducer to the old wire or will I have to install the new wiring through the boat? I want to make this as minimally invasive as possible.

You might be able to splice a new wire in but I wouldn't. Even though the X-ducer cables are pretty plain and easily spliced I wouldn't do it. With a splice you will get signal loss and some interfereance. The best bet would be to get a new transducer, if that is what is required and re-route. Bass boats aren't that hard to route, I've done it several times, and when it's all said and done you won't be sorry. Check Ebay sometimes you can pick them up cheaply there.

Now routing wires to a center console...............now that's another story, benn there done that several times.

Also if you feel really frisky, you can epoxy a shoot thru hull transducer and never have to worry about hitting anything again.

Back to the front....You have a transducer and mounting bracket that is all one piece????? Never seen that. Most I have ever seen will give to you a base opition for transmome or TM mounting. What sonar do you have? For all I have seen,You can buy brackets seperately.

I would bet your transducer will come out of your broken bracket. Otherwise you must keep the wire in one piece and replace it all.
