Does anyone have a good way to be efficient in following fish from the spawning areas to the summer holding areas whether it be out of the creek or out of main lake spawning sloughs? I would think that if there were a point or drop that was along the route and there were shad available that they would stop off for a week or two. Jmax and I have a spot that is a good post spawn area that holds bunches of fish every year for a few weeks after the spawn but then it only holds a very few for the rest of the year. If I could figure out where that big group went after it leaves that spot it would be great. I don't know if anyone has had a good track record in following the fish as they transition out of WT or any other creek on the TN river or at least has a good strategy for at least staying in contact.

No good advice for the fish. But does sound like a good excuse to buy one of the new Side Imaging fish finders.emoSmile

I don't think they go directly deep. I've seen some suspended in areas but havent got enough experience to dropshot them.

I do know that allot of bigger bags ALL YEAR have come from deep water. people that do well on this lake have told me that there are ALWAYS good bass deep all year long. Maybe thier right?

I love my SI humminbird. I can follow creek channels all thw way to the river channel ledge. Found lots of promising areas, almost too many. I look for bends in the creek channels, and if it has stumps or rocks around it. Lots of debris on the channel ledges on the bar, and probably the same on the chick.

I just need to learn how to catch them now.
