Guys, what does it cost to get a transom replaced in a boat nowadays? I have found a 92 model bullet 20 vee that has the transom complete gone, shot!!! Also where to get it done at,and what is a boat and trailer in this condition worth??? The boat is in average condition and trailer looks fine.It is a single axle trailer. I have been looking for an allison but I like this boat and I`m very interested in it,but don`t want to be in it upside down when I get it fixed!!! Anybody with any information would really help.
Thanks,Jeff

I cannot help you with much except to state that you will end up upside down in any boat (B, bring O, out A,another T, thousand) emoSorry

you might PM Paul Nichols on here....he`s just about an expert on Bullets I believe and could probabaly give you some info on who and where you could get an estimate on a fix. Probably gonna be costly .

There's a guy in Cleveland TN that does this type work. I think his name is John Myers???  I will find out if you want me to. He does really good work and is reasonable also. He done one for a friend of mine and you can't even tell he did it. Does great work!

Replacing transom on bass boat your looking at between 800 -2000 depending on the boat, who does it , and how they do it .
Personally I would just do it my self .. do it your self between 100 - 500 depending on boat , and types and bout of materials you use to do it , cheapest way is plywood, and polyester resign , and fiberglass,... the high end is a wood free .. foam core transom, done with epoxy resin and fiberglass.
Of course if transom is gone .. you may find other rot once you open up the transom .. some stringers may have rot which requires glass and resign and work.

Doing it your self is messy , and itchy ( Tyvek Suit Recommended ) but saving the money and the fact you did it your self is a great feeling.. Its a little intimidating at first but once you start you will soon see its easier than you thought.

Anyone wanting to fix theirs and don't want to pay to have it done .. holler at me some time, Ive done 3 boats so far getting ready to start on number 4 later in spring, Ill show you all ya need to know, also have a good bit of info , ebooks etc on this DIY
