Transom plate question?

Does anyone know how many foot lbs. of torque I should tighten the bolts on a transom plate that I put on my triton. I am attaching to jackplate, not motor bracket. It is an aluminum boat with a 200 Optimax. I did not want to get it too tight.

Torque nuts and bolts to around 40 ft. lbs. i would use an anti sieze compound as well. might not be a bad idea to call the plate manufacturer

Do you think that would be the same torque that should be applied to the bolts holding the motor bracket onto the jackplate?

I would call the boat manufacture.They can tell you for sure. Better safe than sorry. Just my thoughts.

the torque values for the motor would come from the motor manufacturer. i would check with them

They told me at Chattanooga Fish N Fun about 60 lbs.
