i was wondering if there is a place around here that can replace transom (rotten wood) on my fiber glass boat and if you you might know how much it would cost thanks

Hixson Custom Boat Works...... and your looking at 800 -2000 , or you can do what I did, get on the internet , do the research to learn how to do it your self and save a ton of money , my boat I did this on was a 15.5 tri hull, I started out to replace transom , then quickly realized, floor and stringers half gone too, and you wont know how much damage you have until open up the boat and see.. If I had paid someone to do this .. prob 5000 , no way .. It cost me 300 in fiberglass, resin, and wood, to do it all, that and alot of time, but when done was better than the orig new was.

So decide
A. if boat is worth the cost to fix
B. Do you have more time or money
C. not enuff time or money, buy another boat

here one pic in progress of my transom/stringers/floor replacement .. this pic is the top half of the hull hanging by chains, from garage roof, after removing rotted wood from boat, if you do this project get your self a tevek jump suit , they are around 20 bucks, but will keep you from itching for days, and get a respirator, when grinding and sanding on fiberglass

For the money you can't beat myers fiberglass repair here in cleveland. He's done alot of work for me in the past and I've never had any complaints about his work
