Trolling Motor batteries

I need to replace my trolling motor batteries - 24 volt system and wondering what everyone is recommending as far as batteries go lately.

I have some buddies that will go cheap every time; and others that go high end to get better power (they claim), longer life, and better warranty.

I fish at least once a week and when I go I usually make a day of it so longer life is a plus.

I bought the advance auto marine batteries. Pretty much all of them have a 1 year warranty I think so I did what I could to get the best deal.

Optima Blue Top group 31's. I swapped to them this year and have been impressed. No issues or dying on me even when fishing 10 hours in thick heavy hydrilla. My trolling motor is a Fortrex 80 and that helps as my Motorguides would eat up battery supply.

Can't go wrong with ever start 29 series. 99 bucks for the maxx for the 2 year warranty or somewhere around 85 bucks for the 1 year warranty

I bought two Max29's from wally world last April and I am more than satisfied with them.
The previous owner bought a set in 2012 and those were the ones I replaced.

Ive not had good luck with Interstate. Just my experience. I cant remember the name but the brand that sears offers has been the best luck I have had with a battery.

5 years is STRONG. I have a dual pro on board charger that came with the boat when I bought it; and I leave it plugged in 24/7 because it is supposed to quit charging when batteries reach full charge. One of my current batteries was dry and I was wondering if leaving it on charge was not a good idea. A guy I work with told me to check water levels every couple months if you leave batteries on trickle 24/7....

I like the 2 year warranty.
