Trolling motor troubleshoot - I have one 12 volt TM battery and one back up 12 volt battery. I've checked both batteries with a volt meter, and they're fine. Both are holding their charge. After a few hours of fishing, my TM barely works...barely moves the boat at it's highest setting. I switch to the backup battery, and the TM works like normal...but only for a minute. When I switch the batteries back and forth it does the same thing - works well for a second then goes back to barely moving me. This has happened the past few times I've been out. Any thoughts? I'm thinking there's something wrong with the TM itself or the wiring from it to the battery, but I'm not sure what kind of issue would lead to this.

Pull your prop and check for line wound around the shaft or you may just have a loose prop. Doesn't sound like a power problem
