Trolling motor running slow

I have a min Kota 65 lb thrust trolling motor that always runs slow(like half the speed it should) it will run all day long but just at a much slower pace than it should. My original thought was bad batteries but got brand new batteries and still the same thing. There is a switch on the bow of the boat that says charge/run that the trolling motor is wired to( switch has to be on run for motor to run) I checked all the wiring and everything seems secure. There is also a big plug that attaches from trolling motor to the bow that looks fairly worn, could that cause it to run at half speed? I feel as if I am only getting 12v of power instead of 24v if that is even possible(and no mine does not have a 12/24 switch on trolling motor) can anyone send some advice my way on things it could be don't have the money to take it someone and would like to get it fixed myself. You need to check voltage where the plug goes in the bow. If voltage is 24 , you might have a speed coil bad in trolling motor.

Ok i will check that tomorrow. Is speed cool easy to replace it looks like they aren't too expensive to order
