i put the boat in sunday afternoon and as soon as i drop the TM in to troll over to the courtesy dock. i put my foot on the pedal to turn and snap, and the pedal goes limp. well i get over to the dock, start taking the pedal apart and find that one of the cables is broke right were it mounts to the frame of the pedal. to make a long story short, reattached the broken cable, and had to lengthen(with some slack on the tag end) the good cable to get both back into their slots on the pulleys and pedal frame.

now i only have about 180-190 degrees of rotation, just to the left of forward, all the way to the right and around to just left of backwards.

i have since taken it back apart in an attempt to maybe be able to adjust it out... yeah that's not gonna work. my next thought was to pull the inner steel cable out and go down to the hardware and get a piece cut to length, fish it through and attach. well, much to my dismay the motor head end of the cable has a permanent end on the cable that is used in connecting it to chain linkage. UGH!

so now what do i do? is their a way i can fab a new end onto a new cable? due to the amount of travel of the cable i don't think i can get a couple of those cable couplers to fit/work.

i have done some google work and i can't find any new steering cables for it either. i need to fix this b/c the Mrs. won't let me drop in excess of 3 bills on a new TM.

BTW the TM in question is a minn kota 565 28lb. and as far as i can tell parts are no longer in production.
