Trolling motor wasn't working right on boat I got... found out why

Got it fixed now but glad I decided to take a look at it

The brush card is corroded from a bad seal. I had the same problem two years a go with my Tour 82 that was causing interference on my front locator.

The problem was it was missing an e-clip or something on the shaft, so it was moving inside to the point where the contacts were rubbing higher up on the motor and essentially breaking everything loose from grinding. Motor still works just needed a diy fix to keep it running. Eventually I'll get something morr than a 30lb motor but for now its working. Just a bit noisy unfortunately...
