Fishin' last night and I went to step on the foot pedal for the trollin' motor and I heard somethin' pop'. The foot pedal quit steering the trolling motor. I looked to see if I could figure it out, but I am not sure. I thought it might be some kind of steerin' cable. Any ideas what this might be? Is it an easy fix?

the cable came off the pully in the head. If you take the head off, the pully is right there. start the cable on one side of the pully and turn the motor in the opposite direction. Once the cable is on, you will ahve to adjust the tension on your foot pedal.....this is for MinnKota not sure about MG but it should be close to the same

If it is a omc trolling motor you have broke the steering cable the only place i know to get one is from John Swallows at EMT in cleveland . Sorry but I can't remember the number!!!!!!!!!!

If its a minn kota you have probably broken the plastic bracket that holds the pulley for the steering in place. John has fixed mine before. His # is 479-7816 and he is great on trolling motors.
