trolling motor

i got a minnkota 74lb thrust trolling fairly new no more than three years old.I put in on the Nick the other morning and when i put it on manuel mode it wouldnt cut on.I then put it on continuous and it started only working on the highest speed but then started working on all speeds a few minutes later.. anyone might know what could be wrong ?

"Crud" Just maybe there was some corrosion or a film that did not allow contact in the variable switch. Electrical spray or Tuner spray on the switch could help. Most likely since the contacts are now working you may never see that issue again....
