Spent the afternoon in one of my favorite places. Fly fishing the delayed harvest section of the Nantahala River. It's all C&R til June & the river is full of aggressive trout. Caught & released approx. 20 rainbows, browns & brookies on bead-head pheasant tail & prince nymphs. It rained on me all day so I never got to try any dry flies. Broke off 2 big 20"+ fish that went over some rapids cause I couldn't hold them on 5X tippets, but what a blast on a 4-5 wt. fly rod.

That sounds like a blast TR. I didn't know that you were a fly fisherman too. I've been down the Nantahala a couple of times but not to fish. In fact last time I fell out of the boat right at the end. Those rapids can be tough on an old guy.

Hey, Polo.
I only fly fish on trout streams & in my pond. I used to fish trout with UL spinning gear, but got into fly fishing a couple of years ago. I love it! My boys & I spend a good deal of time on the Nantahala, the upper part of Tellico & have hiked into Snowbird Creek a few times for some of the best wild brook trout fishing I've ever seen. I've been in the drink at Nantahala a few times myself while wading. You're right, tough on an old guy!
