Well my girlfriend and ally DarbDani have set a date to go bank fishing. We're going Sunday morning. I plan to get a bucket of minnows and my fishing tackle box with floaters, crappie lures and a few other things together and head out.

My question, my normal stomping grounds is over near Wolftever and 58 Slough, however with the threadfin kill and the fish and birds are having banquets daily, I don't feel I would be very productive.

Does anyone know how the crappie (main targeted fish) are doing over by Booker T. Washington State Park? Or would I be better off heading up to Skull Island and fishing some of Tileman's tree placement work?

This is the first time my DD friend has fished a Tennessee waterway .. I want to make it the best experience possible. I'm open to other possibilities too if some of you fishery people have suggestions. I haven't been out bank beating this year yet. :)

Whatcha all think?

Study the photos of the trees that were tossed in at Booker T. I would try those areas first. Try all depths. Slip floats and SMALL tuffies seem to work. The trees at Skull Isl. are for summer pool. They are kinda on the shore rightr now but may attract some spawners that come real shallow. Hope this helps. Best of luck

TT although the water has come up some, your best bet would be the attractors we put up at Booker T. The ones at the Skull are not under water. Also don't forget Eldridge Slough up north of Skull island. It has some great bank fishing spots.

TT, my wife and I fished Booker T last Monday for about 45 minutes without a bite. We went on up stream and caught 6 off the bluff. Hard to bank fish the bluff though. You would need a very long string.

Try bank fishing with floaters set about 4-5 feet from the Tyner Lane area. You can walk quite a bit and people have been catching a few roaming crappie in there. That's where I would go if I were bank fishing. If you are there when I put in Sunday, then you two can go with me in the boat. emoGeezer

AH .. I forgot about that place!!! :) You are right it's a nice area to mess around in with the float and minner! Consider it bumped up the list.

Thanks DK .. I'll look for you at least to say HI!
