Just reported on cbssportsline.com. Has the college football world lost its mind? Tuberville was a very good coach. This year was only his second losing season and the first one was in his first year as HC. He's 42-9 in the last 4 years. I think the Auburn Alumni saw how Saban has built Alabama and they're frightened of the future.

He will probably go to Mississippi State. Just my guess. He will want to stay in conference just so he can kick Auburn's butt.

Yep and he'll do well at Miss. State. If I'm not mistaken he and the Ath. directer didn't get along well. I heard quite a few Auburn fans are happy about it.

Well I am both suprised and not surprised. I think if they were going to get rid of him they should have done it a while ago. Now any replacement they go after will more than likely be a no name coach. Which in the SEC, probably is not a good thing. Talks have it that they are after Mike Leach. Well I hope that doesn't happen. Auburn already proved that the spread, (not the same spread FLA runs), will not work in the SEC. Remember the whipping Georgia gave Hawaii a year or two ago? So please, whatever Auburn decides to do, do not go to a spread offensive minded coach!

As an Auburn Alum from the undefeated season, I never have like the board of trustees, or the athletic directors. During the 02 and 03 year, auburn was under probation from teh accrediation agency (SACS) not for academic or athletic violations but because Bobby Lowder and other board members would not disclose financial dealings between one another. Accredation is a huge deal when you are in a major leading to professional licensure. The governor had to be petitioned and treat of legal actions from the civil body to get the board to release the information.

I don' t agree with the firing of Tubby. You have to try new things to get better and sometimes new things don't always work. Heck just like learning a new fishing technique. If you keep doing the same things over and over you just grow stale. I hope they know what they are doing and don't just have Saban envy. Darn, Tubby beat them suckers 6 years in a row along with huge wins against LSU and Florida, we even beat florida when they won the championship in the swamp.

Ya I still think he might have been able to change directions. And I'll tell you what, I think they had already made up their minds that Tubs was gonna go if he did't beat Bama.

Do you think Auburn's next coach will be Fulmer? He already doesn't like Alabama and he said he would only go somewhere that where the people are passionate about their university. I think it would be great! He would get to coach against Tennessee every few years.

I honestly don't think Fulmer will go to Auburn. It's just too soon after stepping down from TN. He has stated that he wants to take some time and do some things that he hasn't been able to do. Besides, I just don't think number 1, that he will be offered the job, and 2, his passion for TN is too strong for him to really enjoy going elsewhere... anytime soon anyways. Just my .02

LET'S GET ALL THE AUBURN FAITHFUL TOGETHER AND PRAY THAT THE JOB IS NOT OFFERED TO FULMER emoDoh . ALTHOUGH I DO RESPECT THE MANS COACHING CREDS. JUST STAY WITH THE SAME TEAM!!!!!!!!!!! WAR EAGLE

As a Tennessee fan (now), I wasn't surprised that Tub was let go. When the fiasco of 2003 occurred, I knew that it was just a matter of time until Auburn slipped just enough for Lowder to get rid of him. It is a shame for someone to have this much sway over an entire university. I know that all schools have big donors, but this is a little ridiculous. What Tommy should have done was take another job after the 13-0 season. He will land on his feet at a school who really needs and wants him. He is a very good coach. Always has been, always will be.
