Buddy, I have private land to hunt on- and a bunch of it. But each spring I find my self pursuing gobblers on public land. We have a lot of really good hunting ground within an hour of Chattanooga, and most hunters are either too lazy to make a hike or give up by lunch. My advice is check out the Cherokee National Forrest. There are a lot of birds and few hunters, along with some awsome scenery its a great hunt. The Cumberland Plateau has a lot of public ground as well for someone who is willing to do their homework. With all of the great opportunities Tennessee has, I dont think you have to have private property to fill your tag!
