I shot an old mountain bird saturday morning in Putnam County. He hung up on me at about 70 yards around a point. I made a quick move up the mountain to get above him, let out a couple yelps and he came in quick with 3 other longbeards. Killed him at 15 yards. I didnt have scales or measuring tape at the cabin so all I know is his trimmed out breast meat weighed 6lbs 11oz. On my fishing scales before I froze it. His beard was 9-3/4" long. I dont keep spurs anymore but the were probably 7/8".
