I have a 2006 50 hp yamaha two stroke and have been running yama lube oil. I would like to save a few bucks and would like to switch to the walmart oil due to the price. Would this be a good move despite the fact I have been running the yama lube? I have heard its not a good idea to switch oils. My buddies think Im crazy paying more than double for the yamaha oil and they love that wal mart two cycle in there bigger higher HP motors. Any opinions would be greatly appreiciated. Thanks guys

The super tech oil at wal-mart has been tested and is about as good of an oil you can get off the shelf without snatching your wallet out of you back pocket. I use it all the time and have found out that it does real well.
If you are running you VRO then when it gets low just empty out what you have the best you can and fill it up with the super tech. You won't regret it.

I don't think that the supertech oil has all the additives that other oils have, you can still find better cheaper oil at walmart. I would use the synth blend walmart has for about 12.98 gal. It's usually back by the fishing boat stuff. Thats my .01 cents. I use, to use the supertech, but found that it smoked alot more than the synth. blend. emoThumbsup

If you take your oil tank out and empty it to start fresh with another oil you will need to purge the line to remove any air.Probably better to do as you said you would,i.e.,let it get low and then blend the new stuff in.
