Today SouthernCats, Minner and I attended the Alabama Conservation Advisory Board meeting at beautiful Lake Guntersville State Park Lodge. There were about 200 people in attendance, mostly of which were Dog Deer Hunters.

Last meeting in Montgomery I spoke to the board on behalf of the Southern Catfishermen Association, about enacting a 1 fish above 34" limit as there is in Tennessee. We got some good feedback from Mr. Raymond Jones Jr, and Dr. Warren Strickling at our last meeting, and decided to keep the ball rolling.

Allen and Mike spoke to the board in open forum, along with a commerical fisherman that supported our cause. Raymond Jones introduced in new business that a 34" inch limit be enacted in the State of Alabama! It will be voted on at the next CAB meeting in Eufaula on May 17th!

Allen, Mike and I will be compiling more information for our campaign for Alabama catfish. I would ask if anyone would like to write a letter to the CAB Members please let me know and we can supply you with a letter head.

Thanks to everyone that has been supporting us so far!

That's awesome news Brandon & Minner! You two are to be commended for the work you have done for this cause. That's an awesome accomplishment and what makes this country great!!!!emoToast

Thanks guys. We need letters sent to all the CAB members to let them know thir vote is important. Keep your fingers crossed, I sure hope this goes through.

That is great Brandon. It is even better that a commercial fisherman is on our side as well.

I believe 80% of the commercial guys will support us on this... a lot of them dislike the "Pay Pond" commercial guys. There are several CF's in the Florence area that we are trying to pool to support our cause.

Its looking really good... Minner, SouthernCats and I just have to follow through...

Good going fellahs, you are on the right track by trying to save the big cats, let us all know if we can be of help. The squeeky wheel gets the grease.
