Well I appreciate all the info, going to go check out some welders next week. Here are the break down pics so far. What has happened I think is detonation. I think due to the pitted piston and the head, that it detonated because the back of the piston is gone in one section, which caused the metal to get stuck in the crankshaft which put the hole in the side. The crankshaft looks good, and the bottom piston looks good. Can you just have one piston bored out and if the other piston is in great shape leave it? Some pics so far.

When you say piston bored out, do you mean the cylinder? if so, yes, you can if the cut is not too deep in the wall. You can also insert sleeves in some or most model motors I think??
 
From reading they say the sleeves are expensive. Your correct I was goign to have the cylinder bored out.
