O.K., I knew I should not have whined about my problems. I got hit with two more that was my son and my dad going to the ER in two different cases on Friday night. I have bought it up on another thread or two and have had some of you send me PMs asking how they were. I thought I would bring it together here.
Ryan, my son who some of you know, moved to Cookville and he works there and lives. Loves it and his job. The plant he works in is not air conditioned so it is very hot. On top of that this year Ryan has had issues with both his arm and leg where hardware was installed six years ago after he had a bad car accident. In both cases the hardware was removed since his bones were healed and the hardware was doing more harm then good. About two weeks ago they removed the hardware in his arm. He has been off that time recovering. He returned to work the first day back on Friday. They were very glad to see him and asked him to pull a double. He started at 5:30 that morning and worked in 100 degree plus temps up until about 4:00. He was tired and worn out especially not being at work for over two weeks then to come back to a double. Like so many his age they think they can do anything, he was drinking coffee and one of those monster drinks. emoDoh Too much sugar and not enough plain water. Next thing you know he gets sick, light headed, throws up and passes out. Rushed to the ER and put on an IV. Doctors check him out and...you guessed it...too much, too soon, with too much energy stuff to make his body not react, without enough liquids in too much heat. No rocket science there.
He was released a couple hours later and is doing fine now.
Secondly, same day,...
If that was not enough, at 12:30 that night or I guess I should say Saturday morning, my phone goes off and again another ER call. This time my dad who has been in a nursing home was found unresponsive with low vitals. They were rushing him to the ER. He was not responding and by all accounts passed out. My dad turned 79 this past spring and has suffered from different age related problems for some time. He is currently in a deep coma. His body is shutting down and at this time they are making him as comfortable as possible but he is not expected to make any kind of recovery. Please keep him in your prayers that he passes in peace.
Thank you again for all the calls, PMs and thoughts. Jmax
