Looks like I am going to need to replace the steering cables on my Triton...Looked at going to hydraulic steering but not sure if I want to spend that kind of moola...Anyone had any experience in switching a boat over to hydraulics... Looks like I will be doing it myself if I decide to take the plunge

We changed over my dads boat to Hyd. steering last summer. It was not bad at all. you will proablly have to trim the hole where the sterring wheel mounts throught the consol. But as i said it was not bad, and definatly worth the labor

You will love the new set up... well worth the money.... could not believe the difference in handling.... I got first hand experience with kin folks boat over at Normandy and Tims when I went fishing with him....

If you are going to keep it for a while, yes. It will make driving that thang a lot easier... you wont have to keep it from torqueing to the right all the time...

I do not know how hard it is to convert over to hydraulic but like FA said it will be like driving a different rig! And after you go through the expense and headache of changing several sets of cables it is well worth the money!
