Got out on the "G'' yesterday. First of all I got very wet, but with that said it did not stop the fish from doing their thing. It was a very interesting day. The first fish I caught was about a six pound catfish on a spinnerbait. After that I continued the day with a mixed bag of spots, strip, and large mouth. A white and blue spinnerbait was the bait I caught them on and before the day was up I had 4lb largemouth and several spots to go with it. I fished around the Widows Creek steam plant.

Good Luck: Michael Kilgore

Welcome to the forum! It's always fun when a good catfish surprises you on a bass trip.

Thanks for the report. Glad you got out there and had a good time.  I have never fished the upper end and have been wondering about it. Was there much current up there?

There is quit a bit of current around the discharge of the steam plant up there. The river current is pretty good to. The area is good to catch spots if you just want to practice or have a good time.
