So with the BFL coming up I was pondering the idea of fishing as a co-angler and I just had a question nobody ever ask. When you’re a co-anger fishing one of these FLW events what is the etiquette on having to pee or poop???? Obviously if it’s my boat then I do whatever I want but what about the co-angler??? Do you drive all the way back to the ramp for them or do you go in the woods or what???

Well it depends if fish are biting here’s toilet paper try to blow it past transom or if the woods are close take them to bank unless bathroom is close I’ve personally done all three that’s why drink coffee first thing of morning get that out of way

If your a woman, I don’t know. If your a dude, pull that homewrecker out and let er rip. Eat a bunch of bananas the day before to cork up #2.

lol!! does the banana trick work?? never heard that.

I carry a plastic container in my tackle bag. As an old guy that can dribble I don't want to pee on someones boat. In many years as a boater I only had to take my co-angler to the bank once. try to make a trip to the portopotty as close as possible before take off.

^^^^^^what he said^^^^^^

I keep tall kitchen trash bags on board or in my go-bag if I'm fishing as a co-angler. They open up perfectly between the seats (which you use to balance) and you can tie them up tight for a good seal. No smell, no muss, no fuss. Just gotta remember to take it out at the end of the day.

I thought anglers weren't allowed to exit the boat for any reason during tournament hours?

Are shoreline bathroom breaks allowed?

Yes. Back in High school I had to wrestle up a weight class many times. I would eat bananas the week prior to "add some weight".

yes you can use the restroom, even without your partner watching ;)

Thanks for info. I didn't know that. One reason I've never fished tournaments. (Not really. ;) )

Yes, in CBA you can get out to get ice for fish care, but I used to always say during announcements before blast off, "If you get out of the boat, you better have a roll of TP in your hand or getting ice to aid the fish..."

I am sure there are many great stories on this subject. A friend of mine was fishing a BFL regional as a co-angler and drew a guy from Oklahoma who took him way up some creek away from everything. My friend had a bad stomach ache and the guy said "this boat don't go to the bank." My friend said "OK I will just crap in your livewell" They went to the bank.

This is a pretty crappy topic . I always hope I can take care of all these problems before we go out , but emergencies happen!!!!

I have a portable, fold-up toilet (?) that uses bio gel bags and is the size of a short briefcase when folded up. I haven’t had to use it, but my kids have. Easy-peasy and zips up in a double liner with zero smell. It’s a prized piece of boat equipment. I’m not crawling up the bank and leaving a present. One of the best $40 purchases I’ve made at Walmart!
