Using the TM while the motor is in the shop?

I know one guy said he did this for awhile when his motor wasn't running.

It's a 12v motorguide (2 New deep cycle batteries run parallel) on a 17.5' ranger and doesn't handle current well. Where can I put in for some calm water trolling and fishing action?

Harrison Bay or Chesterfrost would be great choices. Lots of fish in both places.</p>
 
If they took the complete motor off the boat I would not put the boat in the water. Water will get in the transom thru the mounting holes that have been drilled. If your boat has a wood in the transom you are asking for trouble. JMHO
 
Thanks for the advice.
The title of the thread was a bit misleading... actually the motor hasn't been removed and is still waiting to be worked on. I don't plan to remove it from the boat.
 
Wolftever creek would be hard to beat in your circumstances. The ramp beside Hwy. 58 is immediately adjacent to good fishing water, especially this time of the year.
