I live in Roanoke County and that does not look like a Roanoke deer. If you look at the the background all the trees have leaves on them. The leaves are gone up here.

I gew up in Roanoke County and have property in Bath County. This picture was taken off Roanoke paper blog, The Wild Life by Mark Taylor. Question him on this picture. If you hunted this muzzleload season it was quite warm for several days, but hey I thought it was a nice buck and there is several large deer killed in Roanoke County every year, just look at his posts and pictures.

Cool I will look at the roanoke blog thanks for sharing. You are right it was warm and windy during muzzleloader season. I know there are some large deer here in Roanoke. I know a dude that that has area he hunts close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and killed a deer that size it was a monster. Thanks for sharing the pic.

Another thing to consider in looking at pictures like this, is if they are like me, I take my boots off and clothes I hunt in to clean and take pictures, don't want blood and crap on my hunting clothes. I grew up and have been hunting and fishing this area for years and it has its ups and downs but the last few years, if you know the area you can kill a buck of a lifetime there. I'm from Bent Mountain area of Roanoke. Call Chattanooga home now, better fishing here for sure.

If this is a legit picture then that is a deer of a lifetime. If I was sitting in a tree and that deer walked by, I'd have a heart attack and prolly fall out of the tree. I noticed it has a broken brow tine, if that deer lost a fight I'd love to see the deer that whipped his butt!!!
