better late than never but florocarbon has been the single biggest discovery that Ive found to catch FISH! My fishing productivity has increased dramatically sinse using florocarbon without a doubt! Pick a floro. stick with it and never look back. I Jig mostly and use use 14-16 test on bait casters. If using on a UR (must) use a Line conditioner for 4-10 test. also I check my line periodically thru the day for abrassions from the bate -3ft down the line. Dont be afraid to go with heavy line with Vanish bacause It's 99.9 clear and I can fill the bass breath on it!! My buddy caught that fish see "went crappie fishing"?12/13/07 8lb bass on 6lb vanish on rocky bank out hwy58. KVD uses Floro 90% of the time!

That bass is getting heavier by the minute !

It's a toad, for sure, but an 8? Maybe I'll take a closer look. Nice fish on light tackle, regardless !

No offense easy, but I wouldn't tie up tomato plants with Vanish ... it wouldn't support the weight. Berkley has their new flouro out, so they'd probably give you the remaining Vanish just to make it ... well ... vanish.

Try some braid. 50lb PowerPro is awesome for jigs, has 0 memory, and doesn't have to be checked frequently. I've tied jigs onto PowerPro and fished them for several MONTHS w/o even re-tying. I fish to fish ... not tie knots all day. If you do prefer flouro - and everyone has their preferences, ahh-hmmm - beetlespin, at least choose a better one than Vanish.

BTW ... welcome to the CFF - home of unbiased opinions. emoLaugh

Welcome to the CFF. KVD uses the fluoro for 2 reasons; first is that he gets it free and second they pay him to use it after they give it to him.emoBigsmile
He fishes for a living and is good at it. He could catch fish with Zebco 202's and weedeater cord on a Donald Duck rod.

Flouro does get you more bites than mono in clear water which we tend to have. Vanish is the worst made followed closely by Viscious. I like Seaguar Invisx and if I am in a pinch and cant get it fast enough I will use Halo although I liked the old P-line flouro better.

Flouro has made an absolute diference in Beetlespin and I fishing and the somewhat, limited success we have had. Anyone that says flouro does not get you more bites has not given it a chance.

KVD uses it (just like every other pro) becauses it gets them MORE bites!

I like p-line the best. ANd i 100% agree with Rangerrob about vanish.... i have seen stronger spiderwebs that 25 lb vanish

thanks fellas for the feedback and I will try a some new florolines. I had tryed P-line Floroclear before and wouldnt use that crap to hang a christmas ornament. I guess that it was just a bad first impression on P-Line, but I will try some of the other stuff but not braided.... untill it is 99% clear and doesnt sink its self into the line on the reel. again, thanks.

I use P-Line Fluoroclear almost exclusively when using mono and I've used it for years with no problems whatsoever. I've got more confidence in that brand then any mono out there. I've always liked and used P-Line Fluorocarbon but recently purchased some Seagar InvisX at Smokey Mountain Tackle that I'm anxiuos to try. I'm told that it has a bit more stretch than Carbon Pro and is easier to manage.

I had been faithful for a couple years and used P-Line's fluoro exclusively until trying the Invisx for spinning tackle. It quickly wound up on all my reels. As already mentioned, Vanish sucks. Berkley's new "Professional Grade" may be a step up, but at $25 for a spool compared to $15 for Invisx, I'd just be a sucker hooked by a pretty ad to buy it.
